Fleur Cates (now Harlan) is the ex-wife of Israel's prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Early life and education
Fleur was born in England. She has a B.A. degree from Cambridge University, England, and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School, Boston, U.S.A.
Marriage with Benjamin Netanyahu
She met Netanyahu in 1978 when they were working at the Boston Consulting Group. At the time, Netanyahu was married, and his marriage ended in a divorce soon afterward, when his wife discovered the affair between him and Fleur. Netanyahu married Fleur in 1981, and Cates converted to Judaism and moved to Israel with him. However, they divorced in 1984.
Career
Fleur is a member of the US Studies Centre's Council of Advisors, a Trustee of The Manhattan Institute, and a member of Business Executives for National Security, an America-wide, nonpartisan organization of senior executives using their business experience to help government leaders implement solutions to national security problems. She resides in Manhattan, New York.
