Biography

Everard McLeod Blair (26 July 1866 – 16 May 1939) was an Indian-born English soldier and a cricketer who played in first-class cricket matches for Kent County Cricket Club between 1893 and 1900. He was born at Bangalore, then in the state of Mysore in British India, and died at Northampton in England.
Blair was a career soldier with the Royal Engineers, retiring with the rank of brigadier-general. He was educated at Cheltenham College and the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, playing in the cricket team of both. He appeared as a right-handed batsman in five matches for Kent in the summer of 1893, achieving his greatest success in his first match, when his 61 was more than double any other player's score in the first innings of the game against Gloucestershire. He reappeared without success in single matches in both 1896 and 1900, scoring only one run in his three innings in these games.
