Biography
Dwayne Bohac (born September 4, 1966) is a Texas lawmaker. He represents the 138th district, which covers west and northwest Houston, in the Texas House of Representatives.
Early life
Dwayne is a lifelong resident of the 138th district. He was born in Northwest Houston and attended Scarborough High School. After graduation he went on to Texas A&M University where he earned at BS in Political Science in 1989 and a BBA in Marketing in 1990.
Time in the legislature
Bohac has earned the endorsement of many conservative and community organizations from across Texas for his legislative record. Many of his accomplishments have been oriented around law-enforcement and small business incentives. He was named “Best of the House” by the Combined Law Enforcement Association of Texas (CLEAT) and the “Taxpayers Best Friend” by the Texas House and was instrumental in the dedication of the Ronald Reagan Memorial Highway.
At the close of the 2012 season Bohac introduced his "Merry Christmas Bill" in response to his son's school removing the word Christmas from all of its holiday activities. The "Merry Christmas Bill" gained national media attention in the run-up to the 2012 Christmas season.
Personal life
He lives in the Spring Branch area and is a member of the Second Baptist Church Houston.
