Biography
Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Mathenge is the Head Chaplaincy and a Senior Lecturer at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) in Nyeri, Kenya. He teaches Business Ethics, Philosophy and Anthropology as well as ethical issues in security and criminal justice systems in the School of Business management and economics. He is a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri, Kenya.
Education
Mathenge obtained his PhD in Religious Studies from the University of Leuven, Belgium, with a specialization in personalistic ethics, human freedom and Divine Grace.
Career
He has published fifteen journal articles. Topics addressed in these journals include ethical issues in money mobile transfer, human resource, accounting and supply chain management and procurement, engineering and construction, cooperate governance, value system in commercial banking, education and training, energy and environmental ethics, police integrity and Leadership.
His first book, Fundamentals of Business Ethics and Values, was published by the International Institute of Science Technology and Education (IISTE) in 2012.
Mathenge has given key note speeches on ethical and moral values relating to family, business transaction, individual decision making and management as well as theological and philosophical dimensions of human life; to a number of conferences in various countries. In 2013, he gave a key note speech on environmental ethics (Living more humanely and sustainably) during the International Conference on Energy, Engineering, Science, Environment and Economy (EESE) in Bangkok, which was published by IISTE.
He is a member of Switzerland's Global Ethics, International Society for Development and Sustainability in Japan, American Institute for Ethics (San Diego) and South Africa Ethics society of South Africa institute.
In the year 2003, he was appointed as a reviewer and Board member of European journal of Business and Management by IISTE. He is chair of Ethics and Integrity committee at DeKUT.
Research Interests
His research interests lie in ethical dimensions in leadership and management, academic honesty, social media, global trade, scientific innovations and Technology as well Theology and African philosophy.
