Disappearance of Kelly Wilson

Wilson was last seen at about 8:30 p.m. on January 5, 1992 as she was leaving her job to go to a nearby bank to deposit her paycheck, but she never returned home. The next morning her stepfather found her car at her workplace and the tires were flat as if they had been slashed. Her belongings, including her purse, were inside the car, but her keys were missing. Wilson was last seen wearing a purple rugby shirt with red, gold and white insignia and white cuffs and collar, with stonewashed cutoff blue jeans with brown loafers, and she was wearing an assortment of rings.

A young man named Michael Biby was eventually arrested as a suspect in the tire-slashing incident, but was not considered to be linked to Wilson’s disappearance. Gilmer police Sergeant James York Brown declared that two people named Chris Denton (Wilson's boyfriend at the time that she disappeared) and Brent Ward were the original prime suspects in Wilson's disappearance, but they were not charged. Wilson was at one point said to have been kidnapped, tortured, and murdered during a ritual by a satanic cult, but charges against the eight accused were quickly dropped when it became apparent that the "cult" existed only in the mind of a zealous investigator. One suspect, Chris Denton, died in 2004.

Joe David Henry, the last person to see Kelly Wilson alive, was charged with child pornography in 2004.
