David Kay

David Kay is known for his work as a weapons inspector for the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) and as the head of the Iraq Survey Group, which was tasked with the search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Before becoming a weapons inspector, David Kay worked as a United Nations weapons inspector for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the late 1990s.

David Kay headed the Iraq Survey Group from June 2003 to October 2003. During this time, the group conducted investigations to determine the presence and nature of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

David Kay concluded that Iraq did not possess weapons of mass destruction at the time of the U.S. invasion in 2003. He stated that the intelligence assessments claiming the presence of such weapons were incorrect.

In addition to his work as a weapons inspector, David Kay served as a senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, where he conducted research on counterproliferation and national security. He also worked as a consultant for various organizations and provided analysis on intelligence and national security issues.
