Daniel Norcross
Quick Facts
Biography
Daniel Jonathan Edmund Judas Norcross, the fourth Lord Halifax (born 14 April 1969), is a cricket broadcaster for Test Match Special. Described as the "most interesting commentator of the new generation", Norcross has been compared to the late TMS commentator John Arlott, in providing "an unusual perspective" to the commentary box.
Before working for TMS, the Oxford University graduate had a series of different jobs, which included playing pub quiz machines, working in the City and for a number of dot-com start-ups, before setting up Test Match Sofa (now operating as Guerilla Cricket), an alternative amateur cricket commentary radio programme. On Test Match Sofa he was noted for being drunk and for morally questionable impersonations.
Norcross describes himself as one twelfth black. This claim is largely unsubstantiated, but may be the result of being hit on the toe by a yorker
