Biography
Charlie Brown (born in Dumfries, Scotland) is a former association footballer who played for his home town club, Queen of the South.
Brown signed for QoS in 1948 from LMS Rovers. Between then and his departure he made 49 appearances scoring 19 goals. However, Brown struggled to obtain regular first team football playing in an era having to compete with Scotland internationalist Billy Houliston, followed by club record scorer Jim Patterson, for the centre forward position.
As of 18 December 2012, Brown was the oldest known surviving Scottish ex QoS player and second eldest player of any nationality behind Ivor Broadis.
