Callodehacha

Jorge Roberto Avilés Vázquez (born 22 August 1948), known professionally as Callodehacha, is a Mexican YouTuber, comedian and writer known for his YouTube channels #GenteDeConfianza and Callodehacha, writing in magazines such as Chilango and CNN México from Grupo Expansión as well as appearing in different TV shows across the country spoofing and interviewing political figures in Mexico such as Mayor-elect of Cuernavaca, Cuauhtemoc Blancoand current Governor of the State of Mexico, Eruviel Avila.

Callodehacha was born and raised in Mazatlan, Mexico. Later, he attended Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education in Guadalajara, Jalisco earning a degree in International Business in 2008.

After a public Twitter feud with Mexican actress and comedian Angelica Vale over a satirical post on his personal blog, which depicted a parody of the actress as the main character, Callodehacha first came to the attention of the public. He created his Twitter account in July 2009, and as of September 2015, it has more than 400 thousand followers. He began making videos in 2011; his first video has received over 30,000 views on YouTube as 19 September 2015.

In 2014, SDP Noticias named Callodehacha one of the most influential Mexicans online. In 2011, he was also mentioned as one of the funniest accounts during an interview article in the Spanish version of Rolling Stone Magazine.

He also has a following of over 300,000 fans on Facebook and over 50,000 followers on Instagram.

Callodehacha started writing on his personal Blogspot page (now deceased) on 2009. After gaining some notoriety he moved to Mexico City to pursue a career as a magazine writer.

YouTube

Callodehacha has started several projects on YouTube since 2011, including NadieNuncaTV, Callodehacha and his most recent, a 50 minutes news satire show, #GenteDeConfianza. As of September 2015, his main YouTube channel has over 118,000 subscribers and over 5.2 million video views. Since its release on iTunes #GenteDeConfianza (the weekly podcast) has reached number one on iTunes México each week and top of the comedy charts the following days.

Television

In February 2013, Callodehacha started appearing as a regular guest in Sexo Consentido along TV host Silvia Olmedo, a sex talk show which was broadcast on Telehit, a Mexican cable/satellite television network owned by Televisa and available in various countries in Latin America and the United States.

Since then he has also appeared on Canal 5, also owned by Televisa Networks and as a guest on Proyecto 40 and Azteca 13 operated by Televisa's rival network Azteca.

Writing

Callodehacha has written several comedy articles for Chilango as well as political articles ADN Político and CROM Magazine.

Live Performances

Since 2013 Callodehacha has been on tour all over Mexico performing live shows and conferences in festivals alongside computer pioneer, Steve Wozniak; former Senior Advisor to the President of the United States Barack Obama for Strategy and Communications, Daniel Pfeiffer; editor and consultant for French newspaper Le Monde, Jean-François Fogel; former professional skateboarder, Tony Hawk; and screenplay writer, Doug Ellin.
