William H. Comrie (born June 29, 1950) is a Canadian businessman. He is the founder of The Brick, one of Canada's largest volume retailers of furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics. In 2009, Comrie's estimated personal net worth was $415 million.Comrie is head of the Brick Group Income Fund.
Comrie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. He has a large family including Peggy Comrie from Pendleton, Oregon USA.
He played with the Moose Jaw Canucks, a Chicago Blackhawks farm team and later Edmonton Oil Kings, but retired from hockey in 1968 to enter into the family furniture business following the death of his father Herb.
Comrie is the father of the professional ice hockey players Mike, Paul and Eric Comrie.
In the spring of 2015 Comrie became a minority owner (and limited partner) of the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
