Biography
Bernard Flood Burke (born 7 June 1928) is an American astronomer who received the Helen B. Warner Prize for Astronomy in 1963. He received his education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He and Kenneth Franklin discovered Jupiter as a source of radio waves while working at the Carnegie Institution for Science. He served as AAS President from 1986 to 1988.
