Benjamin Snof (Hebrew: ּּבנימין סנוף (born 26 January 1986), known professionally as Ben Snof, is an Israeli singer.
Early life
Snof was born in Safed to Nathan and Hila to a Hiloni family. At age 7, he started being a soloist in the band "Flowers of Safed Hebrew: ּּפרחי צפת" under the management of Meir Gabay.
Music career
In 1999, at age 14, he released his first album, "Morning Sunrise Hebrew: ּּבוקר של זריחה." The album featured the song "Star Garden Hebrew: גן הכוכבים", which was written by Yoav Ginay and composed by Svika Pick. After that album, Snof became a Baal teshuva and when to learn in Yeshiva "אורות האר"י" in Safed and abandoned the world of music.
In 2009, he was convinced by his father-in-law חברון טרבלסי to restart his music career and decided to produce an album for him. About a year later, he released his second album "Here He Comes Hebrew: הנה הוא בא", produced by Yogev Semina. The album sold about 20,000 copies.
His third album, "The Journey Hebrew: המסע", was released in 2010. In September 2016, the single "Human Weaknesses Hebrew: חולשות אנושיות", done with Gili Argov , was released. In the single, he accompanies couples to the Chuppah. He collaborated with Moshik Afia, Kobi Peretz and others.
Personal life
Snof is married to Reut and lives in Sfad with his four children.
According to the journalist Sagi Ben Nun, Snof made about 2 million NIS in 2010, with 1.5 million from performances and .5 million from song downloads.
Artistry
Snof's songs are characterized as contemporary Jewish religious music oriented toward Israeli sources and poetry. In many of the songs there are Mediterranean touches.
Among his songwriters, תמיר צור stands out. איתי זילברשטיין also writes and composes for him. Recently, Yossi Gispan
has also written for him.Among his most popular songs are "אם אשכחך ירושלים" and "התנערי".
