Bartholomew Ringle (October 16, 1814 – October 27, 1881) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography

Ringle was born on October 16, 1814 in Germany. In June 1834, he married Magdalena Pick. They had twelve children. One son, John Ringle, also served in the Wisconsin Assembly. A grandson Oscar Ringle also served in the Wisconsin Assembly. The Ringles moved to Germantown, Wisconsin in 1846.

Ringle died of heart disease unexpectedly while working at his desk in Wausau, Wisconsin on October 27, 1881.

Career

Ringle was a member of the Assembly three times. First, in 1864, second, in 1872 and third, from 1875 to 1877. In addition, he was mayor of Wausau from 1876 to 1877 and postmaster, clerk, chairman of the board, and president of Herman, Dodge County, Wisconsin, as well as a justice of the peace and a Marathon County, Wisconsin judge.
