Asım Kibar (Kayseri, 1932) is a Turkish businessman. He is the founder of Kibar Holding.

Biography

Asım Kibar was born in Kayseri in 1932. Mr. Kibar started his career in 1964, at the Orta Anadolu Mensucat Factory, the first denim fabric manufacturer in Turkey, where he served as the chairman.

Asım Kibar established the family company in Istanbul, starting with the iron and steel business. Asım Kibar is the founder of Kibar Holding, which today comprises more than 20 companies, and is actively involved in management.

Mr. Kibar also founded Erciyes University Organ Transplant and Dialysis Hospital, one of the leading organ transplant hospitals in Europe, and was awarded with an "Honorary Doctorate" title by the Erciyes University.

He was named as "Business Person of the Year" by Siyaset Dergisi (Politics Magazine) in 1997. His other awards include "Business Person of the Year’’ by the National Productivity Center in 1998, “Special Award” by the Kayseri Chamber of Commerce in 1998 and ‘‘Business Person of the Year’’ by Rotary Club Kocaeli and Nokta magazine. In addition, Asım Kibar was decorated with the “Commandatore Order of Merit” by the Italian Presidency.

He is an advisory board member of the Turkish Metal Industry Union and the Economic Development Foundation, as well as a board member of the Economic Research Foundation. Asım Kibar is also a founding member of Community Volunteers Foundation.
