Biography

Arnaud Sussmann (born September 21, 1984) is a French classical violinist. Winner of the 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, Sussmann has been a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center since 2006. He trained at the Conservatoire de Paris and the Juilliard School, and he currently resides in New York City. Sussmann performs on a 1760 Landolfi violin.

Sussmann won several international competitions, including the Andrea Postacchini of Italy and Vatelot/Rampal of France. Sussmann was named a Starling Fellow in 2006, an honor which allowed him to be Itzhak Perlman’s teaching assistant for two years.

In September 2015, Sussmann returned to France to work closely with violinist Kolja Blacher and the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, where he then won First prize of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris’s Paris Play/Direct Academy.

Discography

Sussmann's solo debut disc, featuring three Brahms Violin Sonatas with pianist Orion Weiss, was released in 2014.

Sussmann has been featured on PBS’ Live from Lincoln Center broadcasts alongside Itzhak Perlman and the Perlman Music Program. Sussman can also be seen with musicians of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.
