Biography
Arinze Stanley Egbe is a Nigerian artist best known for his hyper realistic life-size portraits of regular black people of African descent. He works primarily with charcoal and graphite on paper. Arinze's drawings depict figures exhibiting strong or subtle emotions trapped within the strokes on the paper. Arinze's work has been displayed at the Omenka Gallery Lagos, Nigeria.
Early life
Arinze was Born 20 November 1993, He is a self-taught artist living and working in Lagos, Nigeria, where he grew up.
In 2009, Arinze completed his secondary education at Saint Joseph secondary school in Lagos, Nigeria. He graduated from Imo State University with a Bachelor's of Engineering in agricultural engineering in 2014.
Stanley is known for drawing pictures that reflect harsh emotions such as anger and pain. Sometimes he also makes drawings that reflect subtle emotions.
His early artworks include Till he comes, Insomnia, Innocence and many others. He made a hyper-realistic portrait of the president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, in 2016.
“I draw inspiration from life experiences and basically everything that sparks a feeling of necessity, I love to express deep and strong emotions, as I find them most attractive,” Arinze told The Huffington Post
