Critiques

Arina Avram (* 1961 born in Bucharest) is a Romanian journalist and writer. Cuprins • 1. Life • 2 Work • 3 Translations • 4 Links • 5 References Viaţa Arina Avram was granted the Journalist license at the University of Bucharest in 1997. Since 2009, she had been working at Adevărul newspaper and is currently working at the largest Romanian national newspaper “Click!”. She also worked at Evenimentul zilei (1992–1996), Cotidianul (1996–1998), National (2000–2006), Adevarul (2006–2009) and collaborated with Radio Cultural and Expres magazin. She made her debut under the guidance of critic George Pruteanu. As Journalist, she made a name of herself especially because of the interviews conducted by her with poet Mircea Dinescu and writer Petru Popescu between 1993 and 1996. In the same period, she made herself noticed thanks to the meetings which she had scheduled with writer Octavian Paler and critic Romul Munteanu. Ph.D Neagu Djuvara, French Academy laureate, recommended her book series Femei celebre (Female celebrities) and Femei celebre din ROMANIA (Romanian female celebrities)(.amazon.co.uk/Femei-celebre-Romania-Arina-Avram/dp/9737240405), by stating that „The series comprising 109 jewels dedicated by Arina Avram to some female celebrities as a result of an exceptional documenting work performed by the author which is shown in the vast blibliographic work, guides us throughout history (Antique, Middle Ages, Modern Ages, 20th Century) in a journey which lets us take a break and witness the lives of some female heroes which are both frivolous, capable of terrible acts, profound, inspired, talented, capable of sacrifice but in any way proving character strength ”. Writer Horia Gârbea writes under the title “An urban world in a book” that “The mark of present-day civilization but also of history consistency, the city, is the mixture of national traits and tradition with the becoming in time ”. This is revealed to the reader in the book „Marile orase ale lumii“ („World’s largest cities“) by Arina Avram published by Editura Tritonic. The book presents in alphabetical order over 150 big cities from all of our continents. For each city, the reader is provided with a 2-3 page mini-guide. Cities are rather presented from a sentimental point of view than conventional, but standard facts such as number of inhabitants, currency, language are not missing. The book mixes a considerable amount of information with the expressive depiction of sightseeings for each place. Journalist Sebastian S. Eduard from local newspaper Jurnalul Național writes about “Mari Minuni Mari Mistere” that “such a book written by Arina Avram, an Encyclopedia of Wonders, Witnesses and Miracle Workers is not just a list of the Ireal, but also a spiritual index, an individual survival guidebook which helps the reader to learn the secrets and wonders of a world in which we can be more than just simple bystanders ”.( http://jurnalul.ro/cultura/carte/enciclopedia-minunilor-521882.html) „A phylosofical and unique novel with ezoteric traits published by well-known Romanian publishing house Alfa is "Coincidenţa ca număr de aur" („Coincidence through a golden number”) , the writer’s last novel tackles life and the world from an original perspective which is quite unexpected. Beside the plot and the suspense which is kept until the very end, the readers uncover unlikely explanations regarding the meaning of coincidences in our day-to-day lives. The series of hypothesis presented in the book fundamentally change the way we perceive destiny in key with the very first irrational number defined in history which depicts the beauty and the perfection of what our tangible existence means and creates. The novel is realist and outlines scenes where trustworthy characters evolve in which readers can get absorbed by presenting the spirtitual Universe of the main character but without withholding the narrative and descriptions. The thrilling and inspiring meditation of life gets us closer to the world through the eyes of a teenager whose experiences make us ask essential questions”, writes journalist Odette Popescu.(http://minunimisteresecreteleterrei.blogspot.ro/2014/05/o-carte-plina-de-mister-o-carte.html) Work • A alerga după o stea. roman, Editura Cardinal, 1996 • Ochii timpului.
