Ameet Mehta

Ameet Mehta was born in Mumbai on 28 August 1972. His family is a Gujarati Jain Hindu family. His father Vilaschandra Mehta is from Khed Brahma, Gujarat and then his father shifted to Barshi District in Sholapur with his grandfather. His grandfather owned a medical shop when India was under British colonial rule and was working in the chemicals industry. He did his schooling in Mumbai, his Engineering from Pune University, his Law (LLB) from Mumbai University MBA from UK’s Leeds University Business School, his International Trade Management from Narsee Monjee in Mumbai and his course of Mergers and Acquisitions from London Business School. He worked as an engineering professional for the first few years of his career.

As a young student, he was participating in various political activities. He formally became a member of BJP during his college days. He was in charge of various youth activities in Pune and Mumbai. His interest in property matters was right from early days and international matters.

Lawyer

He is a managing partner and is currently heading the law firm “Solicis Lex”. He has been prominent and vocal in his concerns on cooperative issues and Indian property laws. He also represented the Home Minister of Country. He was the advisor while shaping and giving advice on the Real Estate Regulatory Act, RERA. He is an expert in many subjects of law and works closely with law professionals in Dubai, the United States, and Israel. He writes Ready Reckoner's for Mumbai city. He has also been a pioneer in many conveyance matters in Mumbai. He was also a lawyer for film star Sadhana for so many years that the case was in the limelight. He represents many film personalities from time to time. He is working in many arbitration matters as well.

Political career

Ameet Mehta started his political career as a leader of the student wing. He was in-charge of Professional Cell BJYM at the national level, BJP District General Secretary in Mumbai North West, President – Legal Cell, BJP Mumbai and currently Secretary of BJP Mumbai. He has been closely associated with Governor Ram Naik of Uttar Pradesh and various political leaders in BJP namely Member of Parliament Gopal Shetty, MLA and Mumbai President Advocate Ashish Shelar, MLA Prakash Mehta, MLA Yogesh Sagar, MLA Vidya Thakur and Jaiprakash Thakur. He has also been associated with Treasurer Shaina NC, Censor Board Appellate Member Ms Poonam Dhillon, General Secretary of BJP Mumbai Sumant Ghaisas. He was recently felicitated at the hands of Amrishbhai Patel. He visited USA for spreading awareness of new BJP government in year 2015 and reached out to many overseas Indians residing in USA. He got a rousing welcome in USA when he visited Texas as BJP Legal Cell President.

Ameet Mehta is very close to his father since childhood. He is married to Bhavini Mehta and the couple has two daughters named Shikha and Twinkle. He is the trustee of Pandit Deendayal Samaj Seva Kendra. The Managing Trustee of this trust is the present Uttar Pradesh Governor Shri Ram Naik. Ameet Mehta is the General Secretary of one of the largest ALM, Malad Mindspace. Congress MLA Aslam Shaikh and Ameet Mehta have been jointly patronizing this ALM. He is also on panel of the Indian Merchants Chamber, Software Associations Cooperative Societies Users and Welfare Association, Association of MBA’s, various Alumni from his Mumbai, Pune, and Leeds (UK) university days.
