Biography

Allan Melrose Sliman (born 27 February 1906 in Busby, Scotland and died in 1945 in an RAF plane crash) was a Scottish footballer who played as a centre half. He made over 370 Football League appearances in the years before the Second World War.

Career

Allan Sliman played locally for Arthurlie before Alex Raisbeck signed him in September 1928 for £280 for Bristol City. Sliman joined Chesterfield for £2,000 in March 1932. Allan Sliman joined Chelmsford City as player manager in October 1938 playing in their FA Cup run in 1938-39. Sliman managed Chelmsford City for 25 matches, of which 16 were won and seven lost. Sliman died in an RAF plane crash in 1945.
