Biography
Akkiraju Umakantham(1889–1942)was scholar in Telugu, Sanskrit and Tnglish languages. He was highly influential author of literary criticism in Telugu language.
He practiced Sanskrit grammar and logic as language options by follow the navadweepa tradition. Because of companionship with literary writers, he started to look for his mother tongue based on the wisdom of his knowledge of the wisdom of curious literature.
He was the editor of the magazine "Trilinga" which was stated in 1916 by "vavikolanu subbarao". He worked as the president of Telugu branch in Presidency College, Chennai from 1920 to 1936.
In 1910 he published Trilinga Kathalu, and in 1911 he collected the copies of Palnati Veeracharitra and published them after editing. Based the stories of warriors of palnadu he has written book Palnati Veerula Kathalu, the stories of warriors in palnadu. He has written Netikalapu Kavitwam which criticised the lack of standards in modernist poetry. He was not only the critic but also a famous writer. His famous novel based on the biography of Tippu Sulthan in 1913. His famous writings were Rasameemamsa, Shakespeare nataka kathalu, Andhra Chndraloka Vivaranam, Naishadha Tatwa Jijnasa, Telugu Desamandali Candaluru.
