Biography

Victoria Falana well known as FALANA is a Canadian-based Nigerian Neo soul musician, record producer and instrumentalist. In 2019, she was nominated in the Best Vocal Performance (Female) category at The Headies 2019 for her song "Repeat."

Personal life

She was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada to a Nigerian parents. She is related to the Nigerian rapper Falz and she plays the guitar, piano, and percussion. She studied Sports science in the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Career

She rose to prominence in 2014 after the release of her single "To Bernard" off her first project Things Fall Together which was released on 25 September 2014. She opened for Yemi Alade and Aṣa at Afropolitan Vibes in 2014. She describes her style of music as "Afro-soul", a blend of Jazz, Soul music, Afrobeat, and R&B. She is influenced by Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone, Frank Ocean and Sia. After the release of her second project "Chapter One" on 29 March 2019, she toured Nigeria, Ghana and Rwanda from 16 August to 6 September 2019.
