Zhou Fang (birth and death dates unknown), courtesy name Ziyu, was a military general of the state of Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. In 228, he was a main figure in a confrontation between Eastern Wu and Wu's rival state, Cao Wei, when he pretended to surrender to Wei to induce the enemy general Cao Xiu into a trap, and Wu forces were able to deal Wei forces a major defeat. This battle was called the Battle of Shiting. His son Zhou Chu later became a famous general during the Jin Dynasty.

Life

In Zhou Fang Early years he was a studious youth who went on to become a magistrate of Sun Quan's regime. His most notable act during that time was executing the barbaric Peng Shi who had been terrorizing the people of Qiantang with raids. After his time as a commandant in Danyang, he was later made an administrator of Poyang in 227. The following year saw him neutralize Peng Qi's rebellion and cause Cao Xiu's downfall by falsely defecting to Wei in an effort to destroy them. With his task done, he spent thirty years governing Poyang until his death.
