Early life and education

Yeniffer Behrens was born on October 7, 1976, in Caracas, Venezuela. She grew up in Washington D.C. after the family moved there when her diplomat grandfather was positioned in Washington, D.C. when she was three years old. When she was nine, the family moved to Miami.

Behrens attended Miami-Dade Community College, graduating with an Associate of Arts degree in theatre. Later, she studied theatre at North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Behrens made her film debut in 1994 with a supporting role in Sylvester Stallone and Sharon Stone-starrer action/drama The Specialist. The same year she was seen portraying the character of "Rita" in French director Jean-Charles Tacchella's comedy film Seven Sundays.

In the following years, she appeared in various English and Hispanic language films and TV series such as Pointman (1995), Trials of Life (1997), My Neighbor's Daughter (1998), Oscar's Magic Adventure (2000), Te amaré en silencio (2003) Nip/Tuck (episode - Agatha Ripp, 2004) and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (episode - A Bullet Runs Through It: Part 2, 2005). My Neighbor's Daughter was originally a 1997 independent film titled Angel Blue, in which Behrens played one of the lead characters, Angela, opposite Sam Bottoms and Lisa Eichhorn. A year later, in 1998, the film was released on Lifetime Television under the title My Neighbor's Daughter.

In 2008, Behrens landed the recurring role of "Marianna Erosa" in the hit television series General Hospital. She was seen in 20 episodes of the season. She had appeared in the series earlier also, in 2005, in a different character of a Brazilian Magistrate named Jacina.

In 2008, she also launched her film production career with the documentary Quincy Coleman: It's All in the Song. Her 2014 production, After School (starring herself opposite Mauricio Mendoza,) was nominated for Best Picture at the 2014 Imagen Foundation Awards.

As an actor, she finished filming for The Pastor and An Afternoon in Brentwood –– both are in post-production phase with the release date yet to be announced. She will also be seen in one of the primary characters of "Ranger Sue" opposite Eric Roberts in The Principal of Monster Lake.
