Biography
Yeduguri Sandinti Sharmila (born 17 December 1973), also known as Y.S. Sharmila, is the younger sister of 17th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy and the daughter of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Y. S. Vijayamma. She is the current party convener of the YSR Congress Party.
Public life
YS.Sharmila Reddy made headlines after she took up campaigning on behalf of the YSR Congress Party along with her mother Smt.Y. S. Vijayamma- Rajasekhara reddy, in the absence of her elder brother fromJune 2012in theunited Andhra Pradesh state. The YSR Congress Party then won 16 of the 18 assembly and 1 of 1 Parliament seats for which the by-elections were held.
Maro Praja Prasthanam
Sharmila began her 3000 kmwalkathon at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on 18 Oct 2012 . She concluded it on 4 August 2013 in Ichchapuram. She toured 14 districts as part of the walkathon.
