Biography

Vi Keeland is an American author associated with Montlake Romance.. Her books have become best-sellers on New York Times and USA Today listings,have been translated worldwide, and have appeared on the German, Brazilian,and US bestseller lists. Fourteen of her novels have appeared on the New York Times bestseller list, and Bossman placed at #1 on both The New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. Her short story, Dry Spell, was turned into a short movie by Passionflix.

Writing career

In January 2013, Keeland published her first novel First Thing I See. Though she never intended on publishing it, she was inspired to take a chance after being displaced from her home due to damage from Hurricane Sandy In April, she published Belong to You, a contemporary romance novel in her Cole series about a dumped fiancée named Sydney who goes on her honeymoon, and has a fling with Jack. Courtney P. of the blog Optimistic Mommy likened the book to Fifty Shades of Grey.The book entered the USA Today bestsellers list on July 18, 2013. In June, she published a follow-up novel Made for You.

Her MMA Fighter series features standalone stories of relationships between women and male MMA fighters. She published Worth the Fight on September 29, 2013, about a female attorney who meets and falls in love with an MMA fighter. It made the USA Today and The New York Times bestsellers list. Her second book, Worth the Chance, published in February 17, 2014, involves a journalist intern who has to interview an MMA fighter whom she had a relationship with back in high school. Worth the Chance made the USA Today bestsellers list. The third book, Worth Forgiving, published in August 20, 2014, involves a woman who owns a chain of MMA gyms falling for one of the fighters there. It too reached the USA Today bestsellers list.

In January 2016 she published The Baller, a book about a football player and a woman journalist who interviews him. The Baller debuted at #3 on The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal bestseller lists. It also spent four weeks on the USA Today bestseller list. In 2016 Keeland published Bossman, a book about a boss who falls for one of his employees. The book debuted at #1 on The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal bestseller lists and spent 6 weeks on the USA Today bestseller list.

Other standalone novels include Throb (2015), Beat (2015), Left Behind (2014), Egomaniac (2017),, Beautiful Mistake (2017), Sex, Not Love (2018), The Naked Truth (2018), and We Shouldn't (2019).

Keeland has been collaborating with Penelope Ward on a number of standalone contemporary romance novels. Cocky Bastard (2015), was about a cross-country driver who gets in a romance with a guy who fixed her flat tire. The book was listed on USA Today and New York Times best-sellers. The title of the book started a trend among romance novelists to include the word "cocky" in their titles. They also wrote Stuck-Up Suit (2016), Playboy Pilot (2016),Mister Moneybags (2017), British Bedmate (2017), Hate Notes (2018), Rebel Heir (2018), and Rebel Heart (2018).

Her short story, Dry Spell, was published on September 28, 2018, and was adapted into a short film directed by Traci Hays, released on Passionflix.

Personal life and career

Keeland is married to a man whom she has known since they were in grade school. They have three children and live in Long Island. Before writing, Vi Keeland was an attorney and specialized in the area of tax law.
