Ulrich Urban (* in Frankfurt (Oder)) ist ein deutscher Dirigent und Pianist.
Leben
Urban studierte Klavier bei Günter Kootz und Dirigieren bei Rolf Reuter an der Hochschule für Musik „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Leipzig. Er wurde 1969 Dozent und 1991 Professor für Klavier ebenda. Urban arbeitet mit mehr als 40 Orchestern zusammen und produzierte für 20 Rundfunkanstalten. Er arbeitet unter anderem mit Gustav Schmahl, Hans-Georg Jaroslawski, Erkki Rautio, Ludwig Streicher, Nicolai Gedda und Sascha Vectomov.
