Community service

Prince Turki is involved in his community in various ways: he is the vice-chairman of the Board of Trustees of Prince Mohammad University. Founded in 2006, this Al-Khobar-based private university is a highly innovative, student-centered, fast-growing institution of higher learning where a number of international professors and prominent businessmen of the eastern region participate.

Prince Turki chairs the executive committee of the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development (www.PMFHD.org). This foundation assists communities in various ways. For example, it trains young men and women of the eastern region and helps them find adequate employment. During the summer months, it organizes programs for students to learn English and computer languages.

The Prince is the president of the Founding Committee of the Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz College for the Visually Impaired, an initiative that fosters learning opportunities for people with this kind of disability. He is also the founder of an organization that provides opportunities for orphans.

Together with its subsidiaries, the company has developed into a major diversified industrial group and manufactures and sells pipes and related products worldwide. The Group comprises 30 pipe system manufacturing plants, 6 technology companies, 4 materials suppliers, and 8 supply and engineering subsidiaries in a number of countries around the world. It displayed his personal collection of cars, decorations, and scarves and showed official documents, manuscripts, documentaries, and more than 1000 photographs, some of them made available to the public for the first time. King Salman inaugurated the exhibition on March 31.

More than 85,000 visitors, from all over the GCC, including many members of the Royal Family and some international leaders, came to the event. Due to its success, the exhibition will become a permanent part of the King Fahd museum at the King Fahd Foundation.

Rumour Exile

Hours after the reported death of Prince Abdul Aziz bin Fahd, claims that his nephew Turki fled the country surfaced. He was speculated to have fled to Iran. This was all proven false after prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahad was seen at the funeral of his cousin Mansour bin Megren with other family members the day after the false allegations surfaced. Also, officials confirmed that Abdulaziz bin Fahad is in fact alive and well.
