Biography

Tim Wilson is a New Zealand journalist, producer, author and radio personality working for TVNZ and NZME.

Early life

Wilson was born in Dunedin and adopted by a Presbyterian minister who relocated the family to Pokeno and then to New Plymouth and finally Whanganui when Wilson was a teenager. Wilson studied at the University of Auckland.

Career

Wilson was the US correspondent for One News in New York City for 10 years before returning to New Zealand in early 2012. He now produces elements for TVNZ's Breakfast and Seven Sharp as well as co-hosting the talk back programme The Two every Sunday night from 8pm to 11pm with Tim Roxborogh on Newstalk ZB.He occasionally fills in for Larry Williams on the Larry Williams Drive Programme on Newstalk ZB.

Family Life

Tim Wilson is married to Rachel Wilson. The couple met in a catholic church in 2012. The couple are married and have two children. The family live in Auckland and Tim's wife Rachel is a common contributor to his Newstalk ZB programme.

Books

Tim Wilson has published four books, all of which are sold in New Zealand and published by Victoria University Press. His first book Their Faces Were Shining was published in 2010 and his second book The Desolation Angel, a collection of short fiction, was published in 2011. News Pigs was published in 2014 with the sequel The Straight Banana published in 2016.
