Song Li

Song Li (Chinese: 李松; pinyin: Lǐ Sōng, born 1965) is a Chinese-American bioengineer and bioscientist. He is currently the Chancellor Professor and Department Chair at University of California, Los Angeles. His research is focused on cell and tissue engineering, mechanobiology and cardiovascular bioengineering. He edited 3 books, and served on the editorial boards of 5 scientific journals. He has co-authored over 200 papers, and is well recognized in the field of bioengineeirng. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical and Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering Society and American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanics and Engineering Science and also his Master of Science in Biomechanics from Peking University. He received his Ph.D. from University of California, San Diego in 1997, working with Professor Shu Chien.
