Sheri Anderson

Sheri Anderson Thomas is an American author, fiction novelist, soap opera writer, screenwriter, and talent manager. She has won three Emmys and is responsible for helming over 3000 hours of network television.

Anderson was one of the creative forces behind the high romance era of soap operas in the 1980s. She was the head writer, on and off for several years, for the television series Days of Our Lives, based on which she also authored three fiction novels: A Secret in Salem, A Stirring from Salem, and A Scandal in Salem.

Anderson is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, in Fullerton, California.

Career

Writing

In 1986-87, Anderson served as the head writer for the TV soap opera Guiding Light. The show was directed by Bruce S. Barry and had in the lead cast Paul Collins, Kim Crosby, and Shawn Elliott. In 1994 again, she was one of the head writers for the show alongside Patrick Mulcahey, Nancy Williams Watt, Stephen Demorest, Millee Taggart, and Peggy Sloane.

In 1988, Anderson was the head writer for 4 episodes of Another World along with Thom Racina (co-head writer) and Rick Nusblatt (associate head writer). The show was directed by Michael Eilbaum.

In 1990, she was a co-head-writer for Bridget Dobson and Jerome Dobson's acclaimed TV series Santa Barbara.

From 1981 to 2019, Anderson wrote the screenplay for 1249 episodes of Days of Our Lives, created by Irna Phillips, Ted Corday, and Betty Corday and starring Deidre Hall, Kristian Alfonso, and Drake Hogestyn among others.

Anderson has written three fiction novels based on Days of Our Lives:

  2. A Stirring from Salem (May 2011, published by Days of our Lives Publications)

Production

In 1989-90, Anderson was a co-producer for 14 episodes of the ninth season of primetime's romance/drama series Falcon Crest. Starring Jane Wyman, David Selby, and Lorenzo Lamas, the episodes were directed by Jerome Courtland.

She also served as Executive Producer for the first original content program on the web, The Spot, and also developed numerous TV and film projects domestically for Spelling Entertainment, NBC, Sony Interactive, and Nelvana, and internationally with Bavaria Films (Germany), Spectak (Australia) and Franz Marx Films/MNET (South Africa).

Talent management

While working on Days of our Lives, Anderson connected with noted talent manager Paul Cohen and formed a talent management company named The Partnership in Los Angeles, California, in 2020, where she currently works as a partner.

Personal life

Anderson is married to animator Paca Thomas—a five-time Emmy-winning sound designer, producer, and owner of the media arts company pacaworks.com.

They reside in Los Angeles, California.
