Biography

Sarah Peirse is a New Zealand based film, television and stage actress.

She is known for her portrayals of two very different mothers — the kind-hearted Honora Rieper in Heavenly Creatures (1994,) and the disaffected sophisticate Kate in Rain (2001.)

In 2013 and 2014, she appeared as Hilda Blanca in Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy.

Peirse also coached the then-newcomer Melanie Lynskey for the Peter Jackson-directed film, Heavenly Creatures (1994).

Currently, Peirse is seen as Verity on the Australian comedy TV series, The Letdown (2017-)
