Salman Akbar (born 3 January 1982 in Lahore) is a field hockey player from Pakistan. His playing position is goalkeeper. He is a veteran of 230 games.

In November, Akbar was a part of the gold medal winning team at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China. At the 2010 Asian games he has rewarded as a best goal keeper in the tournament Beijing, China.
