Biography
Sagar S is a noted and an internationally reputed Indian Music Director. He is also a Kannada lyricist and an actor. He has composed music and penned lyrics for many jingles, albums, daily soaps, films, stage plays,
dramas internationally and nationally. He has not only written for his own compositions but for other music directors as well. He has also judged many singing reality shows in Kannada that includes 'Fresh Voice of Karnataka' with Music Director Mano Murthy, 'Haadigaagi Haadu' and others. He has the credit for working in a record of 1500 recordings in his career. He has acted in films like Saviganasu, Encounter, Parapancha and others. The recent song, written and composed by him, 'Hoge' from the film 'Nam Life Story' sung by Vijay Prakash has gone viral and has got great reviews. Its different lyrics and appealing tune has had the fans go crazy about the song.
Early life
Sagar was born in Mysore. He entered the Industry as a lyricist and then became a music director. Sagar stayed in Mysore earlier and now he, along with his family is settled in Bengaluru.
Career
Sagar has never worked under a music director to become a lyricist or a music composer. He entered the Industry as an Independent and a solo lyricist and a music director. He has the credit of introducing many new singers, lyricists and instrumentalists to the Industry.
Lyricist
- He wrote his first two songs for the album 'Artha' in the year 1999 by Music Composer, Producer and Politician Late Shankar.
- He has also written songs for many Skits and Plays.
- He has written songs for daily soaps such as Chanda Mama Baaro, Sandhya and many more
- He has written more than 250 songs for albums and Plays.
- He is known for his versatility in penning songs. He has composed lyrics for all kinds of music including Romantic songs, Folk songs, Devotional Songs, Bhaava Geethas, Fast numbers etc.
- He has written songs for Various movies for his own compositions as well as for different music directors. He has also written songs for films such as Saviganasu, Encounter, The Guinness and the Limca book of record movie Police Story 3, Neenendare Nannolage, Saraaga etc. in his music and for other music directors.
- He conducts various workshops and coaching classes regarding the techniques of Composing Lyrics.
- His recent song 'HOGE' from the film 'Nam Life Story' that has gone viral has been penned by him.

- He has written and composed many Jingles for Snehaloka Cricket Team, Shree Sai Gold Palace, Arcade Silks And Sarees, SJP Services, D N F Private Limited, Sanjeev Constructions etc.
- He has written and composed for many albums such as Sampreethi, Deva Namana, Shubhodaya, Dhamani Dhamaniyalu Kannada, Deva Raaga and many more.
The Hoge Song
The film 'Nam Life Story', even before the shoot commenced, got a great boost from the making video of the song 'hoge' that was released on YouTube that went viral. The song got great reviews everywhere Its very catchy tune and the lyrics by Sagar had the fans go crazy about the song. The video that was released had many celebrities talk about the song. Celebrities including Senior South Indian Film Actor Avinash, Producer-Director Beesu Suresh, Senior Journalist and the chairman and Managing director of Public TV H R Ranganath, Actors Anirudh, Tharun Sudhir, Achyuth Kumar, Veena Bhat, Music Directors Praveen D Rao and Veer Samarth, Director Nandakishore, Singer Vani Harikrishna and Choreographer Imran Sardariya spoke about the song. The song is sung by Indian Playback Singer Vijay Prakash who hails from Mysore, Karnataka who has sung many super hit songs for Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films.

Through Different Generations
Has worked with legendary singers like Padmashree Dr. B. Jayashree, B R Chaya and others and also with the later generation of Shashidhar Kote, Faiyaz Khan, Sangeetha Katti, M. D. Pallavi Arun, Praveen D Rao, Archana Udupa, Rajesh Krishnan, Ajay warrier, Vijay Prakash and others. The new generation singers like Chaitra H. G., Anuradha Bhat and others have also worked with him. Actors Anirudh, Tara, Naveen Krishna, Sunil Raoh, Writer-Actor Kunigal Nagabhushan, Director T. S. Nagabharana, Music Director Mano Murthy and others have done many voice overs for various projects of the Music director. He has also introduced many new singers to the Industry.
Other Activities
- He is a part of an event management NGO 'Prakruthi',that believes in working towards a greener INDIA by bringing people out of their self-centric hibernation into its lush green parks. Prakruthi also believes in working towards creating awareness among people about the Kannada literature and the culture of Karnataka through music. It organises musical programs all over the state.
- He is a part of Legendary Super Star Late Dr.Vishnuvardhan's 'Snehaloka Cricket Team' (SCT). The SCT that includes many celebrities such as Dr.Bharathi Vishnuvardhan (actor and present President of SCT), Anirudh Jathkar (Actor), Shobaraj (Actor), Avinash (Actor), K S Shivaram (Actor) and many more celebrities organises many Cricket matches for charity and also does a lot of social service.
