Biography

Ryan Garcia (born August 8, 1998) is an American professional boxer. He has held the WBC Silver lightweight title since 2019.

Personal life

Ryan has three sisters, Demi, Sasha, and Kayla and a brother who is also a professional boxer named Sean Garcia. His parents are Henry and Lisa Garcia. His parents were actively involved in his amateur career. They continue to assist Ryan with his professional career as his father remains one of his trainers and his mother works as his Personal Administrative Assistant for commercial projects. In March 2019, Garcia's daughter was born.

Although being American by birth and nationality, Garcia often incorporates his Mexican heritage into his persona. He often carries both the U.S. and Mexican flag into the ring and frequently wears red, white, and blue colors. He is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Though he doesn't speak Spanish, he is currently trained by Eddy Reynoso, who also trains Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. However, his father Henry Garcia translates as he remains second assistant on the training team.
