Biography
Radka Denemarková (born March 14, 1968) is a Czech writer.
She was born in Kutná Hora and graduated from German and Czech studies at Charles University. Denemarková worked at the Institute for Czech Literature at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and also wrote scripts for the Na zábradlí Theatre. She became a freelance writer in 2004. In 2008, she published the novel Smrt nebudeš se báti (Thou shalt not fear death), which blends biography, memoir and fiction; it received a Magnesia Litera award in 2009. In 2011, she was awarded the German Usedom Literary Prize.
