Purbi Joshi is an Indian television actress, television presenter, comedienne, and voice-dubbing actress.
She is best-known as the hostess of the award-winning comedy show Comedy Circus. The show is one of the longest running Television shows in India, and has made an entry in the Limca book of Records.
Her father, Pravin Joshi, is an actor-director, and here mother, Sarita Joshi, is a National Award-winning actress. Her sister, Ketki Dave, is also an actress in India. Growing up in a family of actors and artists, she got a head start in her acting career.
Joshi began her career with modeling for well-known Indian brands like Happy Dent chewing gum, Nirma Washing Powder and Thompson Television. She then became host for a variety of Indian Television shows like Sajid No. 1, and The Great Indian Comedy Show.
In 2006, Joshi starred in the Television film Ghoom, alongside Gaurav Chopra. The film was a spoof of the 2004 hit film Dhoom. The film was produced by Runaway Productions, and distributed by MTV India.
In 2008, she won a celebrity talent competition, Mr. & Miss TV, and was crowned "Miss TV".
In 2011, she was cast in the lead role in the movie Damadamm, opposite Himesh Reshammiya.
