Biography

Maria Cristina of Savoy-Aosta (Maria Cristina Giusta Elena Giovanna; born 12 September 1933) is an Italian princess, member of the House of Savoy-Aosta by birth and of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies by marriage.

Family

Maria Cristina is the second and youngest daughter of Amedeo, 3rd Duke of Aosta, Italian Viceroy and Governor-General of Italian East Africa during World War II, and his wife Princess Anne d'Orléans.

Marriage and issue

Maria Cristina married Prince Casimir of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, son of Prince Gabriel of Bourbon-Two Sicilies and his wife Princess Cecylia Lubomirska, on 29 January 1967 in Jacarezinho, Brazil. Maria Cristina and Casimir have four children:

  • Prince Luís Alfonso of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (born 28 November 1970 in Rio de Janeiro) he married 1998 Christine Pereira Apovian in 1998 and they were divorce. They have one daughter. She remarried Maria da Glória Ganem Rubião
    • Princess Anna Sophia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (born 9 April 1999 in São Paulo)
    • Princess Maria Isabel of Bourbon-Sicily (2012)
    • Princess Luisa Fernanda of Bourbon-Sicily (2014)

  • Princess Anna Cecilia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies (24 December 1971 in São Paulo) married Count Rodolphe de Causans on 18 August 2005. They have two children:
