Pierre Verdun est l'inventeur du premier préparateur culinaire, le Robot-Coupe, ainsi que de sa première déclinaison grand public, le Magimix.
Il créa la société Robot-Coupe pour faire la promotion de ses produits, société qu'il quitta après l'avoir vendue en 1975.
