Pedro H. Oliveira (born 1981), is a Portuguese geneticist and bioinformatician, and a Senior Scientist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His research explores the genetic stability of genomes, and how they evolve an adapt to new environments.
Research and career
Pedro H. Oliveira is a biological engineer from Instituto Superior Técnico | University of Lisbon. He did his PhD at the same institution, where he worked in the genetic stability of DNA and cell biopharmaceuticals for clinical applications.
He later moved to Pasteur Institute in Paris to work as postdoctoral fellow in the large-scale analysis of bacterial genomes and their evolution. He is currently a Senior Scientist at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where his research focus on the analysis of genomes of clinically relevant Bacteria.
He is the author of multiple publications in the subjects of Genetic Stability, Genomics, and Epigenomics.
