Quick Facts
Biography
Noelle Bush (born 26 July 1977) is an American computer programmer, the daughter of Jeb Bush, former Governor of Florida. She is primarily notable for serving as a foil in discussions of drug addiction when her addiction to drugs became public knowledge.
Noelle was born on 26 July 1977, in Houston, Texas, to Florida politician Jeb Bush and Columba Bush. Her younger brother, John Ellise Bush Jr. (born December 13, 1983), is a real-estate businessperson.
Noelle attended Tallahassee Community College, Florida (History, Spanish English, 1998 – 1999) and Florida State University (Leisure and Recreation, 2000 – 2002.)
In November 2015, while campaigning in New Hampshire, Jeb Bush detailed Noelle's struggles with drug abuse.
January 2002 arrest for forging a prescription
In January 2002, Noelle, aged 24, was arrested for forging a prescription to Xanax, a prescription drug to treat anxiety, in Tallahassee, Florida. She was later convicted, and given a suspended sentence, provided she enrolled in court-monitored drug rehabilitation. She was admitted to the Center for Drug-Free Living in Orlando, Florida. In September 2002, other clients at the drug rehabilitation center called 911 to report her use of illicit drugs, within that center. They reported that the center's staff had found her using illegal drugs, including crack cocaine, but declined to call the police, which they would do with any other client, in the same circumstances. The 911 caller stated Bush's act of bringing drugs into the rehabilitation center threatened their own recovery efforts. Noelle was sentenced to ten days incarceration, for this lapse, on October 18, 2002.
