Milton Dewar

Milton Dewar is an American film director, producer, editor; writer; and musician. He is best known for his 2012 documentary, Hi Hater: The Documentary and as a former member of music production team, The Arkatechz.

Films

Dewar made his film-making debut in 2004 with a short film, All the Women I've Loved, based on the novel All The Women I've Loved by Byron Harmon. The same year he released his next short film, Sunshine Has Rain, which is based on the novel, Sunshine Has Rain, by Sherrance Henderson. Dewar was the producer, director, editor, and writer for both films.

In 2012, he wrote, directed, produced, and edited his most memorable work, Hi Hater: The Documentary, a documentary film that explores the origins and effects of hate from the perspective of experts, victims, sufferers, and objective field observance.

In the years 2016-2017, he produced a three-part television comedy series, The Scenes, starring Bricine Brown, Derrick Worsley , Wil Gonzalez, Mark Campbell, and LuvLeighAn Clark. Dewar also lent his voice for the show.

Most recently, he supervised production of a television drama, Miss Melanin Muscle. The show has finished filming and slated to release in 2020.

Author

In November 2017, Dewar published his first novel, Backseat in The Dark. He cites James Baldwin, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, and Alice Walker as his influence in writing.

Music

Dewar was once a member of music production team, Arkatech Beatz, and worked with established musicians including Nas, Wu-Tang, Big Pun, and Raekwon, among others. Arkatech Beatz, formerly known as The Infinite Arkatechz, started off in New York City and is currently based in Atlanta.

As a musician, in the summer of 2019, Dewar released his debut cross-genre solo instrumental beat album, Renaissance Manhattan. The 8-track album's sound is a fusion of hip-hop, pop, R&B, soundtrack, and soul music.
