Mikhail Abyzov

Mikhail Anatolyevich Abyzov (Russian: Михаил Анатольевич Абызов) is a Russian manager in the energy and engineering industry, and Chairman of the board of directors of Russia's biggest engineering company E4 Group.

Abyzov graduated from the Sholokhov Moscow State Open Pedagogical University (now Sholokhov Moscow State University for Humanities) in 2000.

Since 1993, Abyzov worked as a top manager in different Russian fuel and power sector companies.

In 1998, he was appointed by the vice-president of the board of directors of Novosibirskenergo. The same year, Abyzov was appointed by a member of the board and the chief of the Department of Investment Policy and Business-Projects of RAO UES. In 1999, he became the vice-president of board of RAO UES. In 2004, in connection with the change of the organizational structure of RAO UES, Abyzov was appointed by a member of the Board of the RAO and operating director business-unit. Since June 2003, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of RAO UES municipal systems.

Since July 2005, Abyzov has been the general director of Joint-Stock Company UK Kuzbassrazrezugol. Also, since April 2006, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of British coal company Power Fuel. In July 2007, he received a position as Chairman of the Board of Directors in E4 Group. Also, since August 2007, Abyzov has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Mostotrest.

He was the Minister for Open Government Affairs (2012–2018) in Dmitry Medvedev's First Cabinet.

Abyzov is married, and has two sons and a daughter.

In 2011, Abyzov's company Bright Capital invested $75 million into flexible solar panels maker Alta Devices. Alta developed solar panels to mount on drones, aircraft, etc., in order to allow the vehicle to stay aloft for long periods of time. The company has cooperated with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C.

In 2018, Bright Capital's managing director, Mikhail Chuchkevich, was arrested in Russia on suspicion of embezzlement. The Investigative Committee of Russia believes he embezzled $20 million from the Russian Venture Co. through U.S.-based Alion Energy. The company manufactures robots for automatic assembly of solar photo-voltaic plants. Bright Capital invested $15 million as the first investor of the company.
