Michael Hayman

Michael Morris Hayman MBE (born 3 January 1970) is a campaigner and entrepreneur in the United Kingdom. He is a co-founder of Seven Hills, a London-based campaigning communication consultancy. Michael is chairman of Entrepreneurs at the private bank Coutts & Co, co-founder of The Duke of York's E20 advocacy group for entrepreneurs, an Advisory board member for the National Business Awards and has been appointed an Honorary Fellow at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning. He is co-founder of StartUp Britain, the national initiative for early stage enterprise, which was fully supported by the then Prime Minister David Cameron and HM Government. He was recently ranked as one of GQ's 100 Most Connected Men 2014. Michael has supported the national enterprise effort, assisting the Department for Business to position Business in You, StartUp Loans and the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme. He also chaired a task group for the Minister of State to build corporate support for Global Entrepreneurship Week.

As an advocate of entrepreneurship, Michael Hayman is a co-founder of StartUp Britain, a campaign by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, which was launched in 2011 by the Prime Minister David Cameron, the Chancellor George Osborne and the Secretary of State for Business Vince Cable in response to the Government's call for an 'enterprise-led' recovery.

Hayman has co-authored a new book called 'Mission: How the Best in Business Break Through’ published by Penguin Random House in July 2015. Hayman has also written as enterprise columnist for The Daily Telegraph and Real Business and has written thought leadership reports for UK Trade & Invest, Central London Forward and the City of Westminster. He has authored or co-authored the following reports:

Hayman has supported the national enterprise effort, assisting the Department for Business to position Business in You, StartUp Loans and the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme. He also chaired a task group for the Minister of State to build corporate support for Global Entrepreneurship Week.

He sits on the management board of the Business School Small Business Charter. Michael is a non-executive director of Creative Sheffield and a member of Edinburgh Festivals. He also served as a non-executive director with the city of Westminster (Westco) and as a commissioner on the Finance Inquiry into The Future of Cities.

Hayman is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. He is one of the Courvoisier Future 500, the Observer Newspaper's analysis of British business talent, and is listed in the 2011 "PR Week Power Book: The definitive guide to the most influential people in PR". In 2009, PRWeek Powerbook described Hayman as "A skilful public speaker and expert on destination marketing". He is a board member for National Business Awards and is also listed in Debrett's People of Today.

Hayman was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours for services to enterprise, promotion, entrepreneurship, and education.

He is a regular guest on national news programmes, speaking on a wide range of topics including the challenges facing the United States of America and London's reputation in the global arena. Hayman has also appeared on news programs to talk about the challenges that Entrepreneurialism face and how to overcome them. In addition, he has written and contributed to a number of publications on Destination Marketing and Reputation Management. Hayman has also compered events including MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival, ACCELERATE 2013 and Follow the Entrepreneur.
