Biography

Matt Clarke (born 1980) is a Canadian film and television producer and actor. He is best known for producing and acting in web comedy series, Convos with My 2-Year Old (2013-2017.) He frequently collaborates with Canadian actor/producer/comedian, David Milchard.

Early life and education

Clarke was born in 1980 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He attended Bowness High School in Calgary, Alberta, where he took drama classes with Troy Wawrinchuk and Joelle Thomas.

Clarke made an appearance as a contestant on the late-1980s/early-1990s television game show, Kidstreet (hosted by Kevin Frank.)

Career

Clarke made his acting debut on television in 1998, at the age of 17, in Brian Trenchard-Smith-directed TV movie, Atomic Dog. A month later, in February, he was seen in a minor role in "Honey, I'm in the Mood for Love" episode of television show, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.

Clarke made his film debut on 1999, playing the role of "Joe" in comedy/drama film, Mystery, Alaska. The film was directed by Jay Roach and had Russell Crowe and Hank Azaria in the lead roles.

After appearing in Tom Stone (2002,) The Dead Zone (2003,) and Finding a Family (2011,) Clarke released his first production, Palindrome Road. The short film was written, produced, and directed by Clarke and David Milchard and had Christina Sicoli, David Milchard and Clarke in the lead roles.

The following year, in 2013, with David Milchard and Darshan Rickhi, Clarke co-produced and co-directed a web comedy series titled, Convos with My 2 Year Old. Clarke played the role of "Matt," David Milchard played the character of "Coco," and other members of the cast included Michael P. Northey, Christina Sicoli, Sonja Bennett, and Matty Finochio. The film was launched under the banner of Cocomilk Productions, which is a creative partnership between Clarke and Milchard. The film went viral on social media and won many nominations and accolades, including:

Most recently, Clarke produced a television comedy series, Nesting, starring himself, David Milchard and Christina Sicoli. As an actor, he was last seen playing the character of "Dave Voss" in Allan Harmon-directed television movie, Christmas Under the Stars (released November 2019.)

Clarke and David Milchard also serve as chief creative officers for Vancouver-based video production company, Tilt9.
