Biography
Majid Al Muhandes Al-Attabi (Arabic: ماجد المهندس العتابي) is an Iraqi singer and composer, holding Saudi citizenship. His success in the Arab world has earned him the titles of “the Engineer of the Arabic song” (مهندس الاغنية العربية), and “voice of Diamond” (صوت الماسي) respectively. He became a naturalized Saudi citizen in 2010 rewarded by King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.
Majid Al Muhandis
Born: 25 October 1971. Majid Al Attabi was born in Baghdad, Iraq to a simple family. He studied Engineering in Baghdad, hence the title Majid "Al Muhandis (المهندس)," which means "The Engineer" in Arabic. Majid was raised in a simple Muslim family, where he was diligent about work. Upon finishing his University studies, he maintained an interest in the arts. Majid wanted to enter the field of art, despite his family's opposition and anger in the matter; he opposed his parent's desire however and finished University education in addition to learning the art of Music. Majid worked as a tailor for several years and bought himself his first 'oud (Arabic musical instrument) to train in Music.
