Biography
Kalumbi Shangula is a Namibian doctor, politician of SWAPO Party who since 19 December 2018 has been Minister in the Ministry of Health and Social Services replacing Dr Bernard Haufiku after his appointment by president Hage Geingob.
Shangula was most recently Vice Chairperson of the University of Namibia Medical School. He was previously Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of the Environment and Tourism. By 2017 Kalumbi was managing director of SWAPO's own group Kalahari Holdings.
Shangula was married to the Namibian pathologist Elizabeth Hinananye Shangula from July 28, 1981, until her death in 2008.
