Biography

Juliette Longuet (born May 26, 1978) is a French fashion designer, TV host and journalist. She is best known as the host and editor-in-chief of "New York, New York/Paris, Paris" as well as the creator of Juliette Longuet fashion label.

Early life

Juliette Longuet was born in Reims and is a graduate of Institut supérieur du commerce de Paris School of Business and Management in Paris. After she graduated, Longuet began working with LVHM as an assistant product manager in leather goods at the Céline headquarters. Longuet then left Paris to join L’Oréal for the launch of the Biotherm makeup line in Miami.

Fashion career

Fashion Brand

After advertising for other brands, Longuet created her own clothing line and began promoting her brand. She left Miami and moved to New York City to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. Longuet graduated in 2003 and launched her eponymous clothing line which was well received by critics and her peers. The collection was carried by more than 150 stores nationwide and internationally, including Saks Fifth Avenue. Longuet is also available at multi brand stores around the world including Trinity in Saint Tropez, Hotel Isle de France in Saint Barthélemy, Tenet in Southampton, New York, Gorsuch in Aspen, Colorado and online. On September 12, 2012, Longuet opened her flagship boutique on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. The two level 1,500-square-foot boutique has a "very Parisian, very Haussmannian" feel. Longuet has been featured in Women's Wear Daily, Elle, The New York Times, L'Officiel, Grazia and Glamour.

Design Style

Longuet's style has been described as French glamour meets New York sophistication with easy to wear and versatile pieces. Her use of chiffon, silk and lace creates an ultra feminine look with European sensibility.

Fashion Collaborations

Longuet has collaborated with various brands including Sisley cosmetics, Creme de la Mer, Prada Perfumes, Clarins and La Maison du Chocolat, who sponsor her events at her boutique and around New York City. Longuet also went into partnership with champagne house Moët & Chandon and Diptyque. In 2012, the French perfume house Guerlain, chose designs from Juliette Longuet to represent its new fragrance, La Petite Robe Noire. For the official launch of the fragrance on September 5, 2012, thirty beauty editors came to her showroom to pick out their favorite black dress from the JL line and ten models wore the Anouk Aimée Black Dress, designed by Longuet to promote the new fragrance.

Luxury Brand Consultant

In 2014, Longuet decided that she was in need of a new adventure and addition to her well-developed fashion career. With prior hands-on experience and knowledge of luxury fashion, she concluded that the industry was lacking well-rounded and versatile attributes. Longuet noticed that luxury stores and their online websites have been deficient of the right communication, advisement, and loyalty of consumers, therefore taking a toll on their overall traffic and revenue.

Longuet strived to bring forth a more consumer and client link to the luxury market, rather than the traditional relationships with solely the press and celebrity influencers. Exercised through means of private events, Longuet achieves the desired linkage between clients and brands by enacting a unique personalization that best fits each style and target audience.

Her overall mission is to bring forth well-rounded awareness strategically and creatively to luxury brands, while initiating discussions on her blog and various social media platforms. Longuet works alongside many successful and influential luxury brands including Dior, Burberry, Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Moncler and many others.

TV Show

In 2008, Longuet launched "New York, New York/Paris, Paris" a French TV show where she shares her favorite places in New York and Paris. The show debuted on June TV network, owned by the Lagardère Group, in France, Switzerland and Belgium. In 2011, "New York, New York/Paris, Paris" expanded to cover London, Milan, Hong Kong, Dubai, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Tel Aviv. The show was then picked up by AirFrance airlines and broadcast on the Travel section of their TV program worldwide (18 million viewers). In 2014, TV5Monde announced that it will broadcast "New York, New York/Paris, Paris" to 215 million viewers in 200 countries. "New York, New York/Paris, Paris" covers 20 cities around the world. The show is currently in its sixth season.

Infrarouge Magazine

Longuet is a freelance journalist with Infrarouge Magazine which is based in Paris. She began freelancing with the magazine in 2011 where she shares her secret addresses around the world and her favorite products.

Philanthropy

Longuet is a strong supporter and contributor to Fashion for Autism, an organization that raises awareness and funds for groups such as the Dragonfly Academy and ASPIES of Akron. Longuet is also a supporter of The Mosaic Family Services – Fight against Human Trafficking. Longuet took part in the inaugural fundraising luncheon, hosted at Al Biernat's in Texas, with a fashion show featuring Juliette Longuet SS14 collection. The event raised awareness about human trafficking in the Dallas area and the proceeds went to the Mosaic Family Services safe home in North Texas, which provides a safe haven to survivors of human trafficking.
