Biography
Joseph von Spaur, auch Joseph Philipp Franz Reichsgraf von Spaur (* 23. September 1718 in Innsbruck; † 26. Mai 1791 in Brixen) war Bischof von Seckau und Fürstbischof von Brixen.
Die Familie von Spaur ist ein Adelsgeschlecht, das in den Reichsgrafenstand erhoben worden war. Joseph war Sohn des Grafen Johann Franz Wilhelm von Spaur und Anna Maximiliane, eine geborene Gräfin von Trapp. Spaur wurde 1741 zum Priester ordiniert. 1763 wurde er Bischof von Seckau. Er war anschließend von 1779 bis 1791 Fürstbischof von Brixen. Seine Grabplatte befindet sich im Brixner Dom.
