Biography
Joanna Kate Kuenssberg (born 1973) is the High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Mozambique, since 2014.
Life and career
Kuenssberg was born in Lima in Peru and is the daughter of Nick Kuenssberg OBE (born October 1942) and his wife Sally Robertson CBE (they married in 1965). Her younger sister is Laura Kuenssberg (born 1976), and they have a brother. She attended New College, Oxford from 1991, and gained a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages in 1995.
She joined the Department of Environment in 1995, followed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1997. From 2010-14 she was Deputy Ambassador (Head of Mission) for Portugal, and Chargé d’Affaires from January to May 2011.
She was appointed High Commissioner to Mozambique in 2014, headquartered at Maputo.
Personal life
She married in 1997 and has three sons.
