Biography

James Avalon (born 3 July 1952) is a well-known American figure in the adult film industry, known for his work as a director, cinematographer, editor, writer, and producer. He has also worked under the aliases Kunga Sludge, Mondo Tundra, and Monty Tundra.

Career

Avalon's professional aliases include Kunga Sludge, Mondo Tundra and Monty Tundra. He entered the adult film industry in 1979 as a journalist and rose through the ranks, becoming an editor for Adam Film World's special editions. He was also a founding member of the X-Rated Critics Organization.

Throughout his career, Avalon has received numerous awards for his work, including the 1998 AVN Award for Best Editor for the film "Zazel," the 2001 AVN Award for Best Director for the film "Les Vampyres," and the 2006 Ninfa Prize for Best Director for "La Mansión del Placer." He was also inducted into both the XRCO Hall of Fame and AVN Hall of Fame in 2004 and 2005 respectively.
